Calvo mistari Artist Profile
Calvin Kirimba who also goes by the artistic name Calvo Mistari is a 26yr old Kenyan Rapper with the Group Lyrical assassins. He started rapping in 2003 in his last year of High School during the Insyder Pure 02 talent search. From there he joined his friends from his childhood Home in Madaraka Estate, Nick Osawao aka NickDawg and Paul Otiato aka Joka And in 2004 they came up with their first single The flows featuring Kenyan American based rapper Bamboo with became an instant hit.
They laiter hooked up with Ambrose Akwambi of Mandugu Digital and with the help of Bruce othiambo they started recording their debut album in 2005. In January of the next year they released their 1st single in the album titled Kwenye dansi which was well received and dominated radio and TV airplay during that year. The single was nominated for 2 kisima awards in the 2007 edition of the awards. The group was nominated for best new Group alongside eventual winner P-Unit and was also nominated for Best Boomba Song which was won by Nikki for her song Niwe wako.
In 2007 they went on to release numerous songs of their album titled Chinchini, and infact the title song Chinichini is a household song to date.
In 2009 the group took a break from music and Calvo mistari persuade a solo Career from then. He hooked up with former TPF finalist Cedric to release his first single as Calvo Mistari titled Nisamehe which did well in that year.
In 2010 calvo hooked up with radio Dj and close friend Dj Nruff to record an album titled Dj nruff and the Superheroes which reunited calvo with his Lyrical Assassins members alongside, Madtrax, Jahmani, Kenrazy, Girongo, Collo and Robba of Klepto and UK artists J royal and Marcy fine.
He also begun working on his debut album as a solo artist and is still recording the album with Decimal’s Eric Musyoka, Homeboyz’s Freddie and Mandugu digital’s Ambrose akwabi. He released the 1st single from the album Chapi which feature wyre and Opips in a Musyoka dominated beat in late December to a great review. The song shot up to Ntv’s the rush countdown and dominated the No. 1 Spot for 4weeks and stayed in the charts for a consecutive 3 months till end of March 2011. The song is also a club banger in Nairobi and major towns in Kenya.

And also opened for the 14th episode of this seasons Sakata Dace show on citizen TV.
He is now releasing his new single ‘Too Fine’ Featuring HB and Jahmani.
